Dr. Geeta Mehta is an adjunct associate professor of architecture and urban design at Columbia University in New York and a partner of Braden & Mehta Design. Dr. Geeta Mehta is an adjunct associate professor of architecture and urban design at Columbia University in New York and a partner of Braden & Mehta Design. Geeta received her PhD from the University of Tokyo, MS in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, and BArch from the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi. She has maintained her architect’s license in the State of Colorado since 1981. Geeta has taught and practiced architecture in the US, Japan, India, and Vietnam. Her projects include corporate design projects with Jill Braden in Tokyo, a master plan for QTSC Software Technology Park and Deerfield Business Park in Vietnam, JICA projects in Japan and Indonesia, and slum redevelopment work in India. Geeta is the founding partner of URBZ, a think tank in Mumbai committed to developing online and community tools for User Generated Cities. She is also the founder of Asia Initiatives, a nonprofit organization in Japan and the US focused on poverty alleviation through micro credit and other means in South Asia. Geeta is the past president of the American Institute of Architects Japan Chapter.

Geeta is the co-author of several books on Japanese architecture. She is also the co-editor, with George Kunihiro, of the upcoming book City Connect: Regeneration, Equity and Sustainability in the 21st Century.
